I’ve been a signed artist since I was 18, written songs from 11 years old and stumbled my way through chords from 9. In other words, it’s been a long process. One that I haven’t always felt comfortable in, I’ve always been a songwriter naturally and it’s taken me years to feel in my element in front of that big desk with all the buttons (that no one really uses by the way!!)
Now I’m coming to a different chapter, one where I’ve spent more time in my studio bubble than I have on stage - a year and a half - and it’s made for the best recordings yet.
With that being said I wanted to release to you reader and listener (fingers crossed), some demos of the rawest part of the process, when I go in, sit in front of the mic and track just how I wrote it, the acoustic and I.
The song I wanted to start with is called ‘Stay Broke’ as it’s one I’m not sure if I will fully record today, tomorrow or ever, but this beautiful archive I’m revealing is a record of how I’ve felt at different times of my life, the beauty of it is that it may resonate with a time in yours - isn’t that the best thing about all this - to me - yes, yes it is.
Love the song and the new (kinda to me anyway) format! Your writing is also, none too surprisingly, quite excellent as well. I look forward to reading more of your eloquent thoughts and reflections. Peace & Love & Resonating Ideas Like Magic, Always!
Thank you for sharing Jade :)
